Program A – 5 days / 4 nights

Marrakech and High Atlas

DAY 1

• Arrival flight home country to Marrakech Airport (Casablanca also possible).
• Transfer Marrakech airport to your luxury Plaza hotel or Riad in Marrakech included.
  • Transfer from Casablanca airport to Marrakech is supplement
  • (= 2 hours).
• Free day or afternoon depending on flight arrivals.
• Relaxing on swimming pool / hammam / massage.
• Visit of Marrakech (organized visit with professional guide possible).
• Dinner in hotel. Night live in Marrakech or a good night sleep.

DAY 2

• After breakfast you will get the keys of your 4x4 vehicle + papers + briefing.
• Departure around 10 h.
• The day is full of discoveries with first the crossing of the famous 2.260 m. high Tizi-N-Tichka mountain pass and its many landscapes with splendid views on Moroccan highest 4.167 m. mountain Toubkal.
•  Lunch in local tagine (= typical berber food) restaurant. Then direction village of Aït Benhaddou.
•  We will visit the Ksar Aït Benhaddou world heritage by Unesco, probably the best preserved Ksar in southern Morocco. Amazing Ksar where many films were shot:
  • Laurence of Arabia, Game of Thrones, The Jewel of the Nile, The Living Daylights, The Last Temptation of Christ, Lawrence of Arabia, Kundun, The Mummy, Gladiator, Alexander, Dunya en Desie in Marokko, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time en Babel.
• Afternoon (mint) tea and direction to Ouarzazate.
  •  Possibility to visit one of the film studios.
• Arrival in Boumal Dades in our luxury hotel with view over the old town.
• Relaxing and dinner.

DAY 3

• After breakfast today you will go off-road on a spectacular and safe high mountain 4x4 track between the 2 impressing Dades Valley and Todra Canyon.
• Gorges de Dades: The road of a thousand Kasbahs is a spectacular drive winding through stunning desert landscapes, villages and palm groves through the Dades Valley between the Atlas Mountains and Anti-Atlas mountain range with some stunning rock formations. Organized pick-nick lunch on a panoramic location.
• Gorges de Todra: Both the Todra and neighboring Dades Rivers have carved out cliff-sided canyons on their final 40 kilometers through the mountains. The last 600 meters of the Todra Gorge are the most spectacular. Here the canyon narrows to a flat stony track, in places as little as 10 meters wide, with sheer and smooth rock walls up to 160 meters high on each side.
• Afternoon (mint) tea on arrival in the Todra Gorge.
• Arrival in Boumal Dades in our same luxury hotel with view over the old town.
• Relaxing and dinner.

DAY 4

• After breakfast we start driving back to Marrakech by another spectacular and safe high mountain off-road 4x4 track between the Dades Valley and Ouarzazate.
• You will visit nomad people still living in troglodyte rooms carved in the rocky mountains and be invited to join the traditional welcome tea with them.
• Lunch in local tagine (= typical berber food) restaurant.
  • In the early afternoon possibility to visit the Ksar Taourirt at Ouarzazate, another world heritage by Unesco.
• We start now from the south side the crossing back to Marrakech of the famous 2.260 m high Tizi-N-Tichka mountain pass and its many landscapes.
• Arrival at your luxury Plaza hotel in Marrakech or Riad.
  • Relaxing on swimming pool / hammam / massage.
  • Visit of Marrakech (organized visit with professional guide possible).
• Farewell dinner and party in top class restaurant.
  •  Night live in Marrakech.

DAY 5

• Free day or morning depending on flight departures.
• Transfer from your luxury Plaza hotel or Riad to Marrakech airport included.
  • Transfer from Marrakech to Casablanca is supplement.

Program B – 7 days / 6 nights

Marrakech - Hiigh Atlas - Big Sanddunes.

DAY 1 to DAY 3 = idem program.

DAY 4

• After breakfast we have a liaison drive further south direction the big sand dunes of Erg Chebbi.
• Lunch in typical berber tent next to the "Puits de Khettara".
  • These "Khettaras" are an underground irrigation system used since the seventeenth century in the region. The Persians used it for 3,000 years; this expertise was brought by the Arabs. Since groundwater collected in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, a gallery is dug to bring, by gravity, the water in the growing areas to 14 km. All 10 to 30 meters of wells are drilled for discharging earth in the construction and for maintenance.
• After visit we start off-road again direction the architectural wonders of Hannsjörg Voth in the middle of the high planes of Marha. They are built by local craftsmen using traditional techniques.
  • The City of Orion - The Golden Spiral - The Celestial Staircase.
• We cross the high planes of Marha off-road and will arrive in the afternoon in our next luxury hotel in Erfoud built in traditional style.
• Relaxing on swimming pool / hammam / massage.
• Dinner in hotel.

DAY 5

• Today we will cross the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi.
• After breakfast we drive through the town of Erfoud the "Gate of Sahara Desert" direction sand dunes.
  • Erfoud is known for its precious and unique fossils, back 500 million years ago when the Sahara Desert was under water.
  • On the outskirts of Erfoud you will visit an impressive fossil filled marble workshop and other type of fossil varieties such as trilobites and ammonites.
• Camel ride before lunch in an Auberge (traditional guesthouse) next to the dunes.
• After a brief 4x4 sand driving initiation we lower our tire pressure and will "attack" the sand dunes.
  • The track will be chosen by the local Berber guide depending on the drivers 4x4 experience.
• Start of your sublime 4x4 off-road trail through the sand dunes of Merzouga where you can admire one of world’s most beautiful sunrise and sunsets.
• You drive through the southernmost sandy desert tracks near the Algerian border.
• Arrival in an Auberge (traditional guesthouse) beautiful located in a palm oasis.
• Dinner with Berber music and dance.

DAY 6

• After breakfast we start driving back to Marrakech over vast (black) desert planes direction Tinerhir and Ouarzazate.
• Lunch in local tagine (= typical berber food) restaurant.
• We start now from the south side the crossing back to Marrakech of the famous 2.260 m high Tizi-N-Tichka mountain pass and its many landscapes.
• Arrival at your luxury Plaza hotel or Riad in Marrakech.
  • Relaxing on swimming pool / hammam / massage.
  • Visit of Marrakech (organized visit with professional guide possible).
• Farewell dinner and party in top class restaurant.

Program C – 9 days / 8 nights

Marrakech - Hiigh Atlas - Big Sanddunes - Famous Dakar Rally Trails

DAY 1 to DAY 5 = idem program.

DAY 6

• After breakfast we we start driving to Zagora over vast (black) desert planes and beautiful 4x4 off-road trails through remote kasbahs and the vast palm groves of the Draa Valley.
  • Zagora was once the starting point of camel caravans to Tombouctou. A well known sign at the town border states "Tombouctou 52 days", the supposed time it takes to get to Timbuktu, Mali on foot or camel.
  • The Draa is Morocco’s longest river (1100 km). It flows from the High Atlas mountains south-(east)ward to Tagounit and from Tagounit and mostly westwards to the Atlantic Ocean. The water from the Draa is used to irrigate the vast palm groves.
• Lunch in local tagine (= typical berber food) restaurant.
• In the afternoon you will have high mountains, impressive views, beautiful villages and splendid desert tracks and of course the afternoon mint tea.
• Arrival at an magnificent Riad hotel with a pool in the charming palm garden.

DAY 7

• After breakfast we drive from Zagora south passing the ancient village of Tamegroute to arrive in M’Hamid El Ghizlane (plain of gazelles).
  • Tamegroute is an old village in the south of Morocco, in the valley of the Draa River. It has a history as an important center of learning and religion.
  • Tamegroute’s green pottery is also very well known.
• In M’hamid starts the continuation of your sublime 4x4 off-road sand trail through the famous Lac Iriki and the sand dunes of Erg Chigaga.
• Admire the breathtaking "Chott" of the famous "Lac Iriki" and conquer the famous and legendary DAKAR RALLY trail.
• Organized pick-nick lunch in the sand dunes of Erg Chigaga.
• After lunch we lower again our tire pressure and will "attack" the high sand dunes of Erg Chigaga.
  • The track will be chosen by the local Berber guide depending on the drivers 4x4 experience).
• At the end of the sand dunes we pass the military checkpoint and will enjoy a well earned and marvelous served morocco berber mint tea in the small village of Foum Zguid.
• Arrival in another luxury (boutique style) hotel with swimming pool and excellent morocco cuisine.

DAY 8

• After breakfast we have a liaison drive back to Marrakech through the beautiful Foum El Oued direction Ouarzazate.
• Lunch in local tagine (= typical berber food) restaurant.
• We start now from the south side the crossing back to Marrakech of the famous 2.260 m high Tizi-N-Tichka mountain pass and its many landscapes.
• Arrival at your luxury Plaza hotel or Riad in Marrakech.
  • Relaxing on swimming pool / hammam / massage.
  • Visit of Marrakech (organized visit with professional guide possible).
